• The word Buddha is both a Sanskrit and Pali word meaning awakened one.
• Buddhism started around 520 B.C.
• There are approximately 360 million Buddhists making Buddhism the fourth largest religion in the world.
• Buddhism includes 4 Noble Truths.

1. There is suffering in the world.
2. Suffering is caused by selfish desire.
3. Suffering can be removed if we can do away with our selfish desire.
4. We can do away with our selfish desire by following the "Eightfold Way".

• The Eightfold Ways are eight principals of proper conduct. They are;

1. Right Views
2. Right Intentions
3. Right Speech
4. Right Actiong
5. Right Livelyhood
6. Right Effort
7. Right Mindfulness
8. Right Concentration.
